Douglas Gray
Award-winning
artist Douglas Gray was born in Harrogate, England in1965.
He began his professional artistic career in the study of illustration,
enjoying
significant success over a 20-year period with clients including
Saatchi and Saatchi,
Warner Brothers and Universal Studios.
His work includes several book covers for popular authors including
Jackie Collins.
Douglass
career has since progressed into the world of fine art and especially
figurative painting, a natural transition for him.
He finds a wealth of creative inspiration from people themselves,
utilising his
artistic skills to portray human nature and all its emotional
complexities.
The power of his paintings allows Douglas to connect with his
viewers,
igniting their imagination and enabling them to create their
own personal narratives to his work.
He has
an impressive history of important exhibitions including solo
shows in
London, Paris, and Amsterdam.
In 2013 he was elected full member of the Royal Society of Marine
Artists who have the
honoured patronage of Her Majesty the Queen.
He was commissioned by the illustrious Savoy Hotel in London
and his painting
entitled 'Cloudbreak, River Thames' is displayed in the hotels
celebrated River Room.
Douglas
has been the recipient of several prestigious painting awards
and his work is featured in private collections worldwide.
